New Delhi: Gold futures prices on Monday fell by 2.95 per cent to trade at a fifteen-month low of Rs 27,100 per ten gram as speculators engaged in offloading their positions after the precious metal dropped to a two-year low in overseas markets. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in June fell sharply by Rs 825, or 2.95 per cent, to Rs 27,100 per 10 gm, the lowest level since March last year. It clocked a business turnover of 3,190 lots.

Identifying the five-star hotels as major guzzlers of water, the government has directed them to take a number of "concrete steps" by June to conserve water and install waste water treatment plants by September.

Bhubaneswar: With Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) not keen for the proposed Rs 8,000 crore common coal corridor project, Odisha government on Wednesday decided to take up the corridor work through its own agency.
"From today's negotiations, we have come to know that RVNL is not keen on implementing the coal corridor project.
"Therefore, the state government will implement the project in Talcher-Angul area through Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO)," Odisha Chief Secretary BK Patnaik said.
