NEW DELHI: The government has decided on AIADMK leader M Thambidurai for the post of deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, it is learnt. The post was lying vacant since the election of senior BJP leader Sumitra Mahajan as Speaker of the House. The move to give the post to AIADMK is seen as a goodwill gesture towards Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha and also a bid to split the opposition ranks.
