The Brij Vilas Museum mostly concentrates on culture of the region. Objects of historical and scientific importances are exhibited here. The main objective of the museum is to provide as much information of the great resources of Rajasthan which has been collected and preserved all these years. The museum is situated in the northern part of Kishor Sagar Lake and is the best maintained museum in Rajasthan. It has an outstanding collection of different kinds of coins, statues and weapons. Earlier this museum was located in Hawa Mahal, Jaipur now it has been shifted to Brij Vilas Palace. It is now sponsored by the Rajasthan Government.
Brij Vilas Museum has wide range of collection of documents, manuscripts, artifacts, archeological objects and heirloom items. The art craft of Hadoti region is one of the main features of the museum. Brij Vilas Palace museum is the best place to get the tastes of the art and culture of Rajasthan.

I have visited the muesum many,many times since the early 70s and i have always felt very safe and at home there.The muesum recalls very fond childhood memories of mine.Both of my children have visited (2 and 8 yrs)and i have also visited with loved ones now sadly no longer with us.I have many photos of several generations of my family taken outside the muesum.The first thought that came into my head when the flood unfolded was of the Witches Museum (and the liver and onion in the Wellington !)Somehow you instinctively knew that despite all the horror that transpired that fateful day the muesum would survive whatever was thrown at it.My heartfelt thoughts are with you and you are to be commended and deeply admired for the work you have obviously put in ,not just for the influx of visitors for this year but for many years to come and many years that have already passed .Thankyou.
