Mathura: Villagers in Mathura have helped unearth a crude oil racket worth hundred of crores of rupees. Oil was being siphoned off from the main pipeline of Indian Oil Corporation between Salayan in Gujarat and the Mathura refinery.

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has acquitted a man convicted by a lower court for murdering his wife by setting her afire eight years ago. Hearing the appeal filed by Pune-resident Bhanudas Thite, a division bench of Justices VK Tahilramani and PD Kode recently set aside the 2005 order of the Pune trial court which had sentenced him to life imprisonment.

New Delhi: It's a rebirth for 16-year-old Pakistani girl Madiha Tariq Sheikh, who feels India is her "own country" where she underwent a successful liver transplant surgery. Madiha, who hails from Lahore, was flown to India on February 3 after she slipped into coma due to acute liver failure and underwent a liver transplant surgery at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital here.

Rewari: A man along with another person was arrested near Rewari on Friday for allegedly molesting his own wife in a moving mini-truck, police said. The accused have been identified as Yashpal Yadav, the husband, and Satish Yadav - both of whom are drivers in a local branch of the Transport Corporation of India.

Rajgarh: Claims by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan that hail-frost affected farmers were compensated are just the opposite from what facts conveyed, Digvijaya Singh alleged in Rajgarh on Friday. "If the government has a strong will, then no power on earth can prevent it from compensating farmers," he said while addressing a protest meeting against delay in distribution of relief to hail-frost affected farmers.

Mumbai: Thirty-six police constables were suspended after a sting operation exposed the nexus between the policemen and builders. The sting operations, conducted by a social activist, showed 15 policemen accepting bribe to allow illegal constructions

Lucknow: In a new twist in the alleged rape case in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, the pathological report of the minor states that there is no evidence of rape. The doctors, however, have not ruled out sexual assault.

The report comes hours after the Supreme Court took suo motu cognisance of the case, asking the UP government to explain why the 10-year-old girl and her mother were jailed, when they went to register a complaint.

Delhi: GoAir officials misbehaved and refused boarding to passengers booked for a Delhi to Leh flight, despite valid tickets and bookings. The on-ground staff did not even offer an explanation as to why they were being denied boarding. The passengers were later promised a refund but they are still to receive any money for their cancelled tickets. They were even eluded basic facilities like lodging and travel, which are generally offered after these situations.

New Delhi: A Delhi court will on Wednesday deliver its order on the plea of the 1984 anti-Sikh riot victims seeking further investigation against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler. The case relates to the killing of three persons near a gurudwara in Pul Bangash area on November 1, 1984.
