The Swiss, who has won the last 20 sets here, said: “I like the tournament and the conditions here... it is hot and humid and challenging, physically and mentally. I won playing tough tennis the last two years and I hope to keep it going.”

On whether he modelled his on that, Wawrinka quickly shot back: “I have never tried to copy his style and do what I am comfortable with.”
Wawrinka said he was ready for the long journey ahead this season. “I had solid pre-season training and feel I can handle any challenge.
“I am looking forward to having a good year,” he said.
About the autorickshaw ride the other day, the Swiss said: “It was fun. It was good. Thanks.”
