Sehwag holds key to Indian comeback, says Engineer

MUMBAI: It is coming to something when you cannot rely on India for a cliffhanging finish.

It's hard to believe, but so pedestrian has been the visitors' performance in the first two Tests against England that India's No. 1 ranking is on the line with the fear of a 4-0 defeat. But every cloud has a silver lining, and in this case, for India, it's Virender Sehwag.

Farokh Engineer, who left Trent Bridge hurt after the much-vaunted Indian batting line-up collapsed meekly, believes India can still pack a sucker punch through Sehwag.

"It's not going to be easy for India to level the series (2-2), but if they do it will be because of (Virender) Sehwag," Engineer told TOI on Saturday.

The difference between India and England, in this series, has been their body language.

Like Lord's and Trent Bridge, Edgbaston, too, is likely to aid pace. Can India bounce back and level the series 2-2? Engineer feels Sehwag holds the answer.
