KOLKATA: They may not have seen their national flags flutter with pride, but they don't let that get the better of their patriotic fervour. As India and Pakistan gear up for their respective Independence Days, a group of visually challenged youngsters from the two countries are all geared up with their own cyber radio station to air their programme, " Two Nations, One Celebration".

"Humanity believes in no boundary lines. We want to send out a strong message of friendship, unity and love to both the countries," says Salman Khalid, station director of radio Sab Ka Sath, based in Lahore, Pakistan. Started more than a year ago, the cyber radio station has many fans who are as ardent as the people who run it. "Indians and Pakistanis run this station together, and it really feels great when people come with requests for songs. Hum logon ki dosti bari achchhi hain. A programme that I run, called Punjabi Kishmish, along with a girl from Ludhiana, Punjab, and it is really a hit," said Salman.

Agrees Kolkata boy Saheb Sharma, "I have a visually challenged friend in Jaipur, who had roped me into this. It feels great because thousands of people across the globe listen to us and send us feedback " says, Saheb. The team has not more than 20 people. Their programme will start from 11.30 pm on August 13 and will continue till 12 am of August 16.
