Nagpur, Sep 13: A joint team of wildlife and territorial wing officials on Wednesday arrested 10 persons here for selling snake venom illegally worth lakhs of rupees.
The joint team seized 8ml of cobra venom, estimated to be worth Rs 8 lakh. The officials also seized seven live cobras, one chameleon and one grass snake, besides six motorcycles and 14 mobiles from the accused.

"We have arrested 10 people of which five have supposedly raped the woman. We are looking for five to six more suspects. They have been produced before a court and we have sought for their custody," Commissioner of Police (Asansol-Durgapur) Ajay Kumar Nand said.

Darshan, 7, and Ahmed Rian, 8, are studying in class I and II respectively at Vishvabharati primary school in Kavadigarahatti, 3 km from here.
According to villagers, Darshan's grandmother, Gangamma, was angry her grandson didn't attend the school, and subjected him to harsh punishment. Rian's mother, Bibi Aiyasha, followed suit. The guardians reportedly poured buckets of sugary water on the children that attracted an army of ants.
