The over 1,000-km range missile, which can carry nuclear warheads, in fact, had to be destroyed in mid-air after it deviated from its flight path along the coast in Bay of Bengal.

    NEW DELHI: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the party should draw a bottomline beyond which it should not compromise despite coalition compulsions as it distorts the "ideology" and "vision" of the party.

    Rahul said Congress was committed to an ideology and vision of governance that came under pressure when it was dependent on other outfits. He said while alliance issues were understandable, the party should draw a clear line beyond which it would not compromise.

    NEW DELHI: With the national mood being hostile to Pakistan in the wake of killing of two Indian soldiers along the LoC and the recent Hyderabad blasts where the hand of ISI-backed Indian Mujahideen and LeT is being suspected, the government is likely to further defer the proposed group visa facility to nationals of the neighbouring country. The group visa facility was scheduled to be operationalised on March 15.

    Tharoor, however, caveated his response by saying that he was not speaking on behalf of his party or the government but expressing his "personal view" when pointed out that Congress leaders have been saying otherwise about the incident.
