Cash-for-votes scam: Jethmalani makes a U-turn, says Congress paid bribe money

NEW DELHI: In a dramatic U-turn in the cash-for-votes scam trial, senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani has now said that the bribe to the BJP MPs was paid by Congress leaders and not Amar Singh.

Ram Jethmalani had earlier argued that the BJP may have sourced the money. He had later issued a denial.

The senior lawyer said that Amar Singh was not involved in the deal.

Meanwhile, one of the main accused in the case Suhail Hindustani collapsed in Tis Hazari court during hearing on Monday.

A team of doctors was called to attend on him.

According to reports, he has been shifted to a hospital becoming the second accused in the case after Amar Singh to be shifted to hospital.
